Fundraiser Concert held at Van-Far

The Van-Far Music Department held a Fundraiser Concert on Sunday, April 12 to raise money for a performance at the Russell Athletic Bowl this upcoming December.
The bowl game will be played in Orlando, Florida. The five day experience will also allow the band to march in the Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios.
There was also a Silent Auction on gift baskets and other items along with a 50/50 raffle.
The High School Band opened with “The Ringmaster.” Sarah Motley (clarinet) and Cody Swarthout (trumpet) played solos on “Suite from Carmen.” The band finished with “Hawaii Five-O.”
Van-Far’s High School Choir opened with “Wake Me Up!” The song featured solos from Andrew Snodgrass (bass), Makayla Vigil (alto), Nathan Kraft (bass), and Ashley Stanich (soprano).
“Cups” was the choir’s next song.
“Danny Boy” was the final song and it featured a solo from Janie Swarthout (alto).
The Beginning Band played a selection of songs. Those include “Alouette,” “Home on the Range,” “The Conquering Hero,” “Variations on a Theme by Mozart,” “Theme from Symphony No. 9,” and “Ach! Du Lieber Augustine.”
Van-Far’s Junior High Choir opened with “Brave.” It featured solos from Dylan Grimes (bass), Aidan Lowrance (tenor), and Arayanna Lasley (soprano).
The Junior High Choir also sang “Payphone” and “Beach Boys Blast.”
Van-Far’s Junior High Band ended the Side B portion of the evening with “Ceremonial Procession,” “Above and Beyond,” and “Music from Wicked.”
