Four arrested in Mexico

Untitled-2During the afternoon hours of February 10, 2016, the East Central Drug Task Force assisted by the Audrain County Sheriff‘s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Mexico Public Safety served a narcotics search warrant in the 100 block of Josephine, Mexico, Missouri.
As a result of the search warrant officers seized a large amount of methamphetamine, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia. Four subjects were arrested for possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Arrested:
• Jennifer L. Matthews, age 34, of Mexico, was arrested for possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
• Brandon L. Sparks, age 23, of Mexico, was arrested for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
• Julia Rix, age 44, of Mexico, was arrested for possession of controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
• Brittany D. Rix, age 19, of Mexico, was arrested for possession of controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The East Central Drug Task Force was organized in 2001 and serves the cities of Bowling Green, Fayette, High Hill, Mexico, Montgomery City, New Florence, Vandalia and Warrenton, the counties of Audrain, Cooper, Howard, Montgomery, Pike and Warren, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  Anyone having information concerning illegal drug activity is urged to contact the East Central Drug Task Force at 573-473-5801, extension 330 or Audrain County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-TIPS.
