A Hermann, Mo. man was killed in a two vehicle accident at Scott’s Corner Monday morning after two large trucks collided in the fog.
Alfred Bader, age 46, was killed in the accident that occurred at 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 54 and State Highway 19, just across from the Community R-VI School District.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, Bader’s 1985 Ford 9000 truck carrying grain was traveling northbound when a 2016 Peterbilt with a tanker heading eastbound pulled into his pathway. The Peterbilt was driven by Harold Brockes, age 61, of St. Thomas, Mo.
Bader’s truck struck the tanker, his vehicle overturned, and he was partially ejected as he reportedly was not wearing a safety device.
Bader was later pronounced dead at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain by Dr. J.P. Brillhard at 9 a.m.
Brockes’ vehicle came to a rest after striking a sign. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by ambulance.
Both trucks were towed from the seen by Russ Automotive.
The fatality is the third this March in Troop F and the 11th in 2016.
