The December meeting and Christmas party of the Farmer Farmerette Club was held at the lovely holiday-decorated home of Jerry and Keri Bradford at noon on Friday, December 5 with Keri as hostess. Jerry asked the blessing before a delicious dinner of smoked pork loin was enjoyed by all.
President Kay Reading called the meeting to order with the pledge to the American flag led by Bradford. Roll call for the month was to say a Bible verse with the word praise in it and to guess who your secret pal was for the year. Answering was Keri Bradford, Ginger Mangan, Wanda Hanson, Claudine Lybarger, Pauline Keithley, Clara Shaver, Pauline Oberman, Kay Reading, and Jeannie Smith. Several guessed correctly.
Bradford gave the devotion on Luke 2 and song leader Oberman led the group in singing “Silent Night.” The treasurer’s report and the secretary’s report were postponed til our next meeting of the new year which will be in March.
The mystery gift, donated by Lybarger, was won by Mangan. A drawing was held for secret pals for 2015. All members received gifts form each other as well as their secret pals.
The first meeting of the new year will be held at Kay Reading’s with Kay as hostess at noon on March 5.
The annual Thanksgiving supper, which was held on Sunday evening, November 16 at 6 p.m. in the Curryville Presbyterian Church fellowship hall was attended by 20 friends and members.
