Farmerette Club holds July meeting

Posted on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 12:58 pm

On Thursday evening, July 11 at 6 p.m., the Farmer Farmerette Club met at the home of Elsie Lybarger for their monthly meeting with Ginger Mangan as hostess. She served a delicious meal before the meeting got under way.
President Kay Reading called the meeting to order with Mangan leading the group in the pledge to the American flag. Roll call was something unusual about an animal and was answered by Keri Bradford, Clara Shaver, Pauline Oberman, Claudine Lybarger, Wanda Hanson, Pauline Keithley, Elsie Lybarger, Ginger Mangan, Jeannie Smith, and Kay Reading. The devotion, Matthew 10:29-31, was read by Mangan. Hanson gave the secretary’s report and Shaver gave the treasurer’s report.
Song leader Oberman led the group in singing “This Land is My Land.”
Hanson read a thank you card from Susie Oberdahlhoff who was speaker at last month’s meeting.
Claudine read a thank you card from Pauline Sites. A get well card was signed by members and given to Elsie Lybarger who is recovering from a fall she received last week. We wish her a speedy recovery. Smith gave a talk on the 4th of July, telling how it came about. The mystery gift donated by Bradford was won by Claudine. Most every member received gifts from their secret pals. At next month’s meeting, Keithley will be the hostess and it will again be at Elsie Lybarger’s.
