Farber Summer Fun Fest set for Aug. 3-4

Farber area residents are ready to be entertained August 3-4 during this year’s Farber Summer Fun Fest at Sportsman Park in Farber. The event is sponsored by the Farber Lions Club, CBC, and Farber Volunteer Fire Department.
Residents are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the weekend long event.
The lone recent change involves the 3-on-3 basketball tournament to be held on day two starting at 9 a.m. The new point of contacts include Destiny Willis, Tricia Kampeter, and Dana Wallace.
During the first night of the event, the Little Mr. and Little Miss contest kicks things off at 6 p.m., with a registration starting at 5:30 p.m. The event is for boys and girls ages 3-5 and cost $2 per entry. For more information, call Lynn Flowers at 573-721-5994 or Brandie Gay at 573-721-4890.
An Ice Cream Social starts at 6:30 p.m., a karaoke will be held from 7-10 p.m., and a kiddie carnival and bounce house will be starting at 7:30 p.m.
The headline event of the evening will be the Missouri Farm Pullers tractor event, which is sponsored by the Farber Lions Club. For more information, contact track coordinator Eddie Babb at 573-721-0785 or 573-594-6236.
Day two features events being held throughout the day that include the Poultry Poop Contest, Quilt Raffle, 50/50 Raffle from at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. where participants must be present to win, a kiddie carnival, bounce house, and more.
The Pet Show starts at 9 a.m. at the Farber Depot and is followed by the Welcome and Parade at 10 a.m.
After the parade, the Baby Show will start at 11 a.m. with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The contest is for boys and girls ages 0-36 months and babies can wear anything. Entries cost $2.

The Sand Volleyball Co-Ed Tournament starts at 11 a.m. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the Pedal Tractor Pull starts and is followed by the Tricycle Races featuring new tricycles. At 1:30 p.m., a Cake and Junk Food Walk will be held before the Andy James Hour’s Golf Car Barrel Racing at 2 p.m.
Games for all ages will be held through the afternoon, starting at 3 p.m.
This year’s Farber all-School Reunion will be held from 2-4 p.m.
Water Wars starts at 4 p.m. at the Farber Christian Church with the help of the Youth Group.
The GTPOMMA Garden Tractor Pull will start at 5 p.m. at the same time the Depot Tours start with the Farber History display.
A Fish Fry Supper begins at 5 p.m. with the help of Rick Goodhart.
An Old West Shootout, performed by the South Fork Regulators, will be held at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The Annual Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Cruise-in starts at 6 p.m.
Live music from “Burnt Toast” will be provided from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. at the city park. A drive-in movie will begin at 9 p.m. at the park.
