Farber Community Betterment

Farber Community Betterment met on Wednesday, April 5, 6:30 p.m. at the Farber Library; Marilynn Flowers presiding and reporting the following:
Old Business
Lynn Flowers reported the Community Building Project still has a wish list to be completed   including bathroom window installation, floor trim, door sweeps,  and thresholds also need to be completed. Other possible improvements include new counter tops and a new refrigerator.
New Business
An Easter Candy Dash was planned for Saturday, April 15, 10 am at the Sportsman Park ball field. Brandie Gay volunteered to chair the event. It will be held rain or shine
Spring All Town Yard Sale date was set for June 3. Lynn Flowers will organize..
Harold  Williams asked for approval to apply for grants for ball park bathroom improvements, bringing them into ADA compliance, a new scoreboard, and entertainment funding for the 2017 Fun Fest. Approval was given.
Williams also reported the Lions Club is working on a project to improve Sportsman Park by adding lighting at the volleyball court.
Judy Hull asked for volunteers to help with mowing at the roadside park.  She said all help, either a week or a month commitment would be appreciated.  The months of March, April, and July are covered so far.  A sign-up sheet will be available at the library.
Library building maintenance was discussed. Hull volunteered to paint the front door.
Ruth Williams and Lynn Flowers will investigate gutter and back door problems.  Carolyn Ball and Lynn will solicit bids for carpet cleaning and schedule as soon as possible.
There was also discussion that we should start annual contributions to a building fund to be prepared for major improvements such as a new roof or heating and air.
