The Farber Community Betterment group met on October 19 at the Farber Library with Marilynn Flowers presiding.
Secretary Ruth Etta Williams, and Treasurer Vernelle Hull presented reports.
The group discussed Fall holiday plans including participating in the “Trunk or Treat” on Saturday, October 28 from 6-10 p.m. at the ball field.
Brandie Gay reported there will be candy and treats for all attending, kids games, a movie, and pumpkin painting. This will be a safe trick or treating experience. Area police, fire, and EMS personnel will be attending and the event is free to all. Gay encouraged everyone to come, either with a decorated “trunk” and pass out Halloween treats or to bring their kids.
Christmas plans were also made for Friday evening, December 1 at the Community Building. A short Christmas program will be followed by a visit from Santa.
The on-going Community Building Improvement Project was also discussed.
There are still a few things on the “to do” list. A Soup Dinner fundraiser was set for February 11. Everyone is encouraged to come enjoy a noon-time meal and see the progress to date and help fund future improvements.
Those present were asked for donations of food. Brandie and Lynn Flowers will chair the event.
Library maintenance was also discussed. Harold Williams will address these items.
Brandie Gay also mentioned that Farber Fun Fest will be hosting a Quarter Auction on March 10, with proceeds going toward Ball Park improvements. She has several vendors signed up, but was looking for a few more. Additional details will follow.
