Farber Baptist WOM/Men meet

Farber Baptist WOM and Baptist men met Monday, August 19 with Karen Holbrook, WOM president, leading the groups in singing “We’ve A Story to Tell”.
Linda Prior presented a topic entitled, “Combating Human Exploitation in Mississippi.”
Holbrook program leader presented “Tell Me the Story,” assisted by Jessica and Carrie Hurd.
Members were thanked for the donations to the “Christmas in July” offering for the Missouri  Baptist Children’s Home.
Mission action for August is school supplies.   J. Hurd, mission action chairman, stated that September’s mission action will be a donation to Missouri State Mission’s Offering.
Prior received a birthday gift from her secret pal.  “Bring-a-Snack” was enjoyed by members.
Next meeting is September 16 with Callie, Ted, and Gene Fowler as host and Prior program leader.
President Jim Day opened the men’s meeting with Psalm l08 and prayer. For Mission Action a donation will be made to the State Mission’s Offering.
It was noted that Alan Hurd and Tom Prior had mowed  Waldo Robert’s yard and trimmed some brush.
The fish fry menu for Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at Sportsmen’s Park was planned.
Sterling Holbrook led the program entitled “Whom Can I Trust?” and “What Do I  Do Now.”  Job 28 and 31 was the focus scripture.  Holbrook presented an introduction to each main segment and asked relevant questions after the following parts were presented, “Recognize the Limits” and “Be Compassionate and Understanding,” Prior; “Acknowledge Wisdom’s Values “ and “Seek Wisdom’s Guidance,” Hurd; and “Be Honest and Faithful” and “Be Focused on God,” Tom Wright; “ Be Fair and Merciful,” Day.
The meeting was closed with the Calendar of Prayer for the October revival, Rev. Jerry and Jackie Ostrom, who are on vacation in Florida, and Waldo Roberts and the Rev. Robert Stoddard, who are ill.  Day furnished the refreshments.
