Farber Baptist WOM, Men meet

The Farber Baptist WOM and Baptist Men met Monday for their monthly meetings.  WOM president, Karen Holbrook, lead the group in singing “My Country Tis of Thee”.  Callie Fowler, program leader, presented “Accepting God’s Will” assisted by Jessica Shark.   Global partners, “Praying for a Blessing” was presented by Linda Prior.   Prayer chairman, Monnie Smith, presented each member with a package of seeds with names of missionaries who had birthdays today.  Smith read Matthew 26:75 as the scripture focus and prayer focus was China.
Each member read the names of the missionaries and Smith closed with prayer. Plans were made to honor fathers for Fathers Day for the Mission Action for June.   July’s Mission Action will be Christmas in July.  These donations will be given to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in Bridgeton, Missouri for their Christmas gifts.
The next meeting will be June 16 with Holbrook as hostess and Smith leading the program.  Prior lead in prayer for those on the requested prayer list.  Refreshments was bring-a-snack. Holbrook closed in prayer.
Jim Day, president, opened the men’s meeting with Ecclesiastes 4:l-l6 and prayer.  For Mission Action the men made a donation to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry.  Sterling Holbrook led the program entitled “Serve Humble; Believe Exclusively.”  Focus scriptures were from John.  Holbrook presented the introduction to each section and asked pertinent questions about each part given.  Parts presented were “What Does Humble Mean?”, Ted Fowler; “Fervently Remember His Teachings,” Tom Wright; “Freely Love One Another” and “The  Way To Pray to God,” Tom Prior; “Forcefully Resist Boasting” and “The Way To Enjoy God’s Peace,” Alan Hurd; “The Way To Be with God,” Gene Fowler; and “The Way To Pray to God,” Day. The Calendar of Prayer was led by Ted Fowler and Wright.
