Farber Baptist WOM and Men Meet

The Farber Baptist WOM and Baptist Men met Monday for their monthly meetings. Karen Holbrook, WOM president, lead the groups in singing, “Go to Dark Gethsemane”.
Carrie Hurd, program leader, presented, “Cultivating Faithfulness” assisted by Sharon Michaels, Linda Prior, Monnie Smith, and Holbrook.
Global Partners were presented by Prior, “Students Bring Jesus Home” and Hurd, “Stepping Up.”
Smith read John 20:8 as the scripture focus and an article on China for the prayer focus. Each member read a missionary’s name who had a birthday on this day and Smith closed with prayer.
For Mission Action in May the group will be sending a thank you card to someone who is or has been serving our country.
The next meeting is May 19 with Callie Fowler leading and “Bring-a-Snack” for refreshments. Michaels closed with prayer.
Linda and Tom Prior were hosts for the meetings.
Jim Day, president, opened the men’s meeting with Exodus 4:1-8 and prayer. Plans were made for a Mother’s Day program.
For Mission Action the men will send a get well card to Waldo Roberts in Tennessee.
Sterling Holbrook led the program,” Forge Godly Friendships; Be Amazed by the Resurrection.” The focal scripture was Proverbs and Mark. Holbrook gave the introductions to each section and asked pertinent questions after each part. Parts presented were the following: “Consider Consequences” and “Communicate Loyalty and Love,” Tom Prior; “Cultivate Patience,” Tom Wright; “Amazed  Through Convictions” and “Confidence,” Alan Hurd; and “Resurrection Convictions,” Day. The Calendar of Prayer closed the meeting with Tom Prior praying for our September revival and Tom Wright praying for our country and giving a blessing on the refreshments.
