Emergency training course held for local residents

DSC_0948Members of local Fire Departments from Curryville, Farber, Laddonia, and Vandalia as well as Van-Far Ambulance personnel gathered at the Farber Fire Department for a 16 hour course instructing Emergency Vehicle Operation.
On Saturday, January 3, MU Fire and Rescue training instructor Randall Ragan lectured on the subjects of legal aspects, morals, and financial loss that occur in the event of accidents that happen while operating emergency vehicles.
The following Saturday, January 10, students were tested driving emergency vehicles through an obstacle course simulating situations that may happen during daily calls.
Personnel successfully completing both phases of the course were Curryville Fire Protection District members Virgil Jones, Amber Jones, Tony Lovell, Bill Cropp, Ron Singleton, Dianne Singleton, and Ed Jennings; Vandalia Fire Department members Kevin Teague and Dewey Straube; Laddonia Fire District members Jerry Johnson, Chad Branstetter, Marty Fennewald, Glen Jensen, and David Jensen; Van-Far Ambulance members Leslie Dahl, Wendy Hull, Kelly Baur, Jeff Bone, Jessie Elsworth, Stephanie Walden, and Lori Swank; and Farber Fire Department members Gary Stubblefield, Tony Shade, Johnny Dieckmann, Michael McConnell, Justin Franke, Harold Williams, and Ruth Williams.
