Eight local players earn all-conference honors

Five Van-Far and three Community R-VI basketball players earned All-EMO Conference honors this past week for their efforts during the 2016-17 season.
On the boys side, Van-Far had three players earn first-team honors for the first time in at least 10 years.
Juniors Lathyn McMorris, Josh Hodde, and sophomore Trey Miller each earned the first-team honors.
Community R-VI’s Cordell Hollensteiner was the lone Trojans named all-conference. The junior earned second-team honors.
On the girls side, both Van-Far’s Jayle Jennings and Community R-VI’s Alissa Curtis earned first-team honors. Jennings is a junior and Curtis is a sophomore.
Second-team honors went to Van-Far senior Jayda Borgmeyer and Community R-VI freshman Natalie Thomas.
