EDWINA CLARIECE STANFORD

Services for Edwina Clariece Stanford, 65, of Laddonia will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Bienhoff Funeral Home, Laddonia, with Reverend Tommy Barnhart officiating. Burial will be in Laddonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Bienhoff Funeral Home. Mrs. Stanford passed away at 10:40 p.m. December 18, 2011 at Pin Oaks Nursing Home, Mexico.
She was born December 24, 1945 in Mexico, the daughter of Tony B. and Mary Esther Adkins Sullivan. She was married to Vernon Douglas Stanford on December 10, 1965 in Mexico and he preceded her in death April 26, 1994.
Survivors include: one son, Billy (Reva) Stanford of Laddonia; two daughters, Vernea (Dwayne) Hogue, and Alicia Stanford, all of Laddonia; four sisters, Frances (John) Day of Centralia, Nellie (Ed) Wallace, Charlotte Martin, and Marty Sullivan, all of Mexico; a special friend and companion of many years, Dale Talbott; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Snowell Stanford.
Mrs. Stanford was a lifetime area resident and Christian by faith.
She had been employed  at Crown Linen for several years and then worked as a cook for the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico and several area restaurants.
She was a former member of the Laddonia Athletic Association and the Laddonia Ladybug’s Club. She assisted with the Cub and Boy Scout troop 54 in many capacities. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, visiting with her family and friends, playing the lottery and crafting. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laddonia Cemetery  Association.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Drissel, Ian Curtis, John C. Day, James Day, Justin Day and Alan Kuda. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
