LADDONIA—Mike Dixon overturned his tractor trailer Saturday spilling a load from one of the final runs of the harvest along RR 642.
Laddonia Fire and Rescue arrived and found Dixon had not been seriously injured during the accident, however, he had sustained a fractured rib, as well as cuts and bruises.
Dixon’s wife, Vicki Dixon, reports that Mike is sore all over, but the worst thing is that he lost one of his hearing aides.
“Here we go. Have to get another one,” she said. “We are very blessed it was not more serious, and very glad one of the girls was not with him. Glad he waited til they were almost finished with harvest before ruining the semi.”
Travis Dixon, Mike’s son, who is the owner of the farm said, “Thank God no one was hurt. It’s times like this I am truly humbled by the community of farmers and neighbors that I am blessed to call my friends. Without hesitation they jumped in with shovels and a vac and cleaned up all the corn. Trucks can be replaced my father cannot be, so I am thankful he’s ok.”
