Donald Lee Weatherford, age 72, of Corso, passed away Oct. 15, 2014 at the St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake Saint Louis surrounded by his family.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex with Pastor Mark Spence officiating.  Burial was in the New Liberty Cemetery.  Visitation was held at 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home.
Donald was born June 18, 1942 in Corso, the son of Francis Lee and Mary Abbott Weatherford. He married Martha Rae Fletcher on Feb. 28, 1970, at the New Liberty Church in Corso.  She survives.
Other survivors include two sons: Jim Weatherford (Cathy), of Corso, and David  Weatherford, of Corso; daughter Kimberly Williams (Chris), of Corso; five grandchildren Fletcher Williams, Mackenzie Weatherford, Emily Weatherford, Kacey Williams, and Sarah Weatherford; brother Charles Weatherford, of St. Charles; sister Marilyn Davis (Marvin), of St. Charles; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald lived in Corso his entire life and went to Silex High School.  He was an active member of the Methodist Church.  He also served in the Navy from 1961 to 1966.
Donald worked on the family farm his entire life, was on the Olney Volunteer Fire Department, and was involved in the Pork Producers.   Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved going to Silex ball games, no matter the age of the athletes, although he especially enjoyed going when his kids and grandkids were playing.  He also loved spending time with his grandkids.
Serving as pallbearers were Jim Weatherford, David Weatherford, Chris Williams, Marvin Davis Jr., Gary Olliff, and Charles Weatherford Jr.  Honorary pallbearers were Kurt Bruns, Joe Paulsmeyer, Steve Sanderson, Bobby Dameron, Mathew Davidson, and David Thompson.
Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
