DONALD A. MURPHY

Services for Donald A. Murphy, 84, of Laddonia, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Laddonia Baptist Church with the Reverend Tommy Barnhart officiating. Burial will be in Laddonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia.
Mr. Murphy passed away at 3:17 a.m., March 15, 2014 at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico.
He was born August 20, 1929 in Vandalia, the son of Thomas Ambrose and Dorothy Edith Wright Murphy.
He was married to Deloris Jean Selleck on October 20, 1950 in Laddonia and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and her husband, Delana and Tom Becker, of Laddonia; two sisters, Betty Craig and Doris Pebley, both of Kansas City; three grandchildren, Renee (Joe) Kelly of Columbia, South Carolina, Amanda (Nolan) Keller of Maryland Heights, and Ryan Murphy Becker of Mexico; and four great-grandchildren, Peter and Harper Keller, and Brendan, and Avery Kelly.
He was preceded in death by one son, Alan Murphy; one brother, Paul M. Murphy; and one sister, Mary Elliott.
Mr. Murphy was a lifetime area resident and had worked as a supervisor at AP Green for over 30 years.
He served in the Missouri National Guard 128th Battalion as a radio operator.
He was a 50 year member of the Mexico Masonic Hebron Lodge No. 354.
He had served on both the Laddonia Fire Association Board and the Community Betterment Association and had held several offices as well as being a deacon of the Laddonia Baptist Church.
He enjoyed woodworking.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Laddonia Baptist Church or the American Lung Association.
Pallbearers will be Max Ware, Joe Williams, Ken Robnett, Roy Nordwald, Phillip Talbott, and John Selleck
