District Tournament updates as of Thursday morning, February 22
Van-Far held off Clopton last night, 68-57 while Louisiana beat Paris, 59-35. This sets up a semifinal game on Friday at 7 p.m.
Canton got past South Shelby 67-43 while Knox County upset Scotland County 54-41. Those two teams play at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
The winners square off at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
After Monday night’s games, the semifinals are tonight in Canton. South Shelby battles Canton at 5:30 p.m. while Paris takes on Clopton at 7 p.m.
District action at Community R-VI
Last night, the Community R-VI Trojans crushed Madison in front of their home crowd, 68-42. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Chamois beat Fulton-St. Alban’s 90-24. The two winning teams paly in the semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m.
Also last evening, Wellsville beat MSD 57-13 and North Shelby knocked off Marion County 62-38. Those two winning teams play on Friday in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m.
The championship game is at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday at Mexico High School.
The girls tournament picks back up tonight as Madison takes on Wellsville at 6 p.m.
The host Lady Trojans take on a tough Chamois squad at 7:30 p.m.
The two winners play in Mexico at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 24.
All games in Canton have been postponed and moved to Wednesday evening at the same time, this due to the weather conditions.
The Class 1 District 10 boys games at Community R-VI for tonight have been postponed due to impending weather concerns. All games will be pushed back one day, boys first round tomorrow, girls semis on Thursday, boys on Friday, championships will still be played on Saturday at Mexico High School.

Class 1, District 10 girls basketball games hosted by Community R-VI on day one (Monday, February 19)
Chamois beat Marion County 56-26
Chamois paced by Katie Keilhole and her five 3-pointers for 23 total points. Haley Skaggs added 14 points.
Marion County was led by Dayton Hays’ 16 points.
In the other contest:
Wellsville defeated North Shelby 41-34
Wellsville was led by 16 points scored by Lucy Schnitker as the No. 5 seed upset the No. 4 seed.
North Shelby was paced by nine points by both Brett Reitz and Presley Storeburner.
On Wednesday, the semifinals are set.
Wellsville will take on No. 1 seed Madison at 6 p.m.
The host Lady Trojans will take on a 17-9 Chamois squad at 7:30 p.m.
As for Class 2, District 6 action on Monday night.
Van-Far girls fell to a talented Paris squad, 59-23 to end their season. Paris will take on Clopton in the semifinals after they held off Knox County by 10 points, 45-35.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seed South Shelby beat Louisiana 56-30.
Canton upset Scotland County 35-32.
So on Wednesday, South Shelby will take on Canton at 5:30 p.m. followed by Paris and Clopton at 7 p.m.
