Danny Ray Worthington

Danny Ray Worthington, age 71, of Bowling Green passed away May 18, 2015 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 23, at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. John Birkhead and Rev. Keith Barnhart officiating.
Burial was  in the Bowling Green Cemetery. Visitation  was held Friday, May 22, at the funeral home.
Danny was born June 28, 1943 in Louisiana, the son of William Charles and Josephine Lou Hutchison Worthington.
On March 11, 1967 in Paynesville he married Sharon Hall.  She survives.  Other survivors include daughters Geneva Martinson (Ed) of Bowling Green, Debra Fisher (Travis) of Bowling Green, Elizabeth Miller (Robert) of Hannibal; grandchildren Andrew and Meredith Martinson, Kaylen and Camden Fisher, and Dagny and Garrick Miller; two sisters Barbara Drake (Leroy) of Clare, Ill. and Frances Haverich (Ted) of Columbia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Danny grew up and lived in Bowling Green his entire life, graduating from Bowling Green High School in 1961.
He worked on the family farm until his health prevented him from taking an active role.
He was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church and served in the Army Reserves.
He enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch at the VFW, and working crossword puzzles.
Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Bruce Scherder, Bill Harness, Frank Worthington, Gary Drake, Jeffrey Drake, and Kevin Drake.
Memorials may be made to the Pike County Home Health and Hospice or the National Kidney Foundation
