The construction of a permanent landing pad for Med-Va/Air-Evac helicopters has officially started on the southwest corner of Van-Far High School, across from the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Lions Club members are hoping the project can be completed by the end of July, weather permitting.
The cost of this landing pad is $7,000 and the Lions Club has received approximately $3,000 in donations towards the project.
Vandalia’s Lions club is still soliciting financial help from individuals, clubs, and businesses of the community.
Contributions can be mailed to the Vandalia Lions Club, P.O. Box 240, Vandalia, Mo. 63382; mailed to Ken/Barbara Jarvis, 714 S. Lindell, Vandalia, Mo. 63382; or given to any other Vandalia Lions Club member. For further information, call 573-594-2215.
