Connie Rae (Weiser) Sutton was born on November 19, 1937 to Delpha and Vernon Weiser of Jonesburg, Mo. Connie grew up in Vandalia, Mo. where her family owned the local drug store.
Her favorite memories were of being a “soda jerk” at the drug store.
Connie married Bob Sutton on August 11, 1957 and raised three children on a farm outside Kansas City, Mo.
The stories that can be told about her time on the farm put everyone in stitches.
During the Vandalia High School 1958-1959 school year Connie taught girls’ Physical Education and coached the girls’ basketball team.
Although she started college after her graduation from Vandalia High School, marriage and children took precedence.
However, when Connie had raised her family and gotten them well on their way in life, she decided to go back to college and received her degree in Business Administration in 1989.
Having received her Business degree, and after 20 years working at Norris City State Bank, she decided to start a computer training center in Naperville, Ill. – DCG, Incorporated – at the urging of her son, Greg.  In February, 2014 DCG will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Connie’s profound faith has had an impact on everyone she has met and her kind and giving spirit have touched innumerable lives.
Regardless of the challenges she faced, she was always available to offer advice, provide a listening ear, or help those in need.
Additionally, her love of life and golf have been instilled in her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Robert W. Sutton, of Aurora, Ill.; three children, Robin Sutton of Aurora, Ill., Gregory Sutton (Patricia Harris Sutton) of North Aurora, Ill., and Michael Sutton of Honolulu, Hi., and her “dedopted daughter” (as Connie called her), Connie Malone of Aurora, Ill.  Connie has three beloved grandchildren, Justine (Punkin), Christopher (Big Bud), and Jesse (Rattail) Sutton of North Aurora, Ill. She is also survived by her mother, Delpha Weiser Phillips, of Vandalia, Mo.; her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Melvin Blase of Columbia, Mo.; her brother, John Weiser, of Vandalia, Mo.; sister-in-law Bobbi Sutton, of Vandalia, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Warrenville, Ill. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the start of a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Vandalia, Mo. on Sunday, January 12, at 1:30 p.m.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Connie’s name to the “Connie Sutton Memorial Fund” to support Youth programs.
