Community R-VI track strong at Westran meet

The Community R-VI boys and girls track and field program had some early season success at a meet at Westran High School.
The Lady Trojans managed to score 20 team points to take 10th place.
Brianna Beamer led the squad by setting both a personal record and a school record in the 1,600 meters with a time of 6:12 to win the race.
Natalie Thomas placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 20.26 seconds. She also took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.25.
As for the 4×200-meter relay team, Paige Risenhoover, Elisa Swaim, Thomas, and Beamer placed fourth with a time of 2:09.46.
In the shot put event, Alissa Craig had a toss of 29’05.25” to place fifth. She also took seventh in the discus with a toss of 81’02”.
Swaim just missed having a top eight performance when she took ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 3:14.
The Trojans failed to have any top eight performances for team points at the meet held at Westran.
