Community R-VI presented the Summer School musical production, “There’s a Monster in My Closet!” last Friday evening.
The free musical was about a monster found in a closet that doesn’t mean any harm to some young girls who were enjoying a sleepover.
The monster Murry was more scared than the kids were. He was on probation since his boss heard he was goofing off on the job.
When the girls try to capture the monster, they end up catching the monster’s boss, “the Dream Queen” and her secretary. The musical includes a focus on how friendship, ingenuity, and a sprinkling of magic lead to a delightful solution to a young girl named Emily’s monster problem.
The cast included Megan Kuda (Emily), Peirce Eckler (Tom), Kasey Dawson (Mom), Stephanie Martin (Stephanie), Shianne Platt (Brain), Molly Claire (Megan), Jenna Eikel (Tara), Brynna Beamer (Kelly), Madison Woodhurst (Mary), Damian Eckler (Chris), Alissa Craig (Shelby, Sandman), Collien Turner (Nathan), Samuel Atkinson (Murray), Aubrey Stafford (Wanda), Kristy Schulte (Toadi), Morgan Dry (Dream Queen), Erin Nichols (Robin), and Ivy Hays (Jamie).
The set design and stage hands include Kaylee Briggs, Clayton Brandt, John Adams, Jeyla Luckett, Zoie Woodruff, Kade Lybarger, Halee Nolan, Naven Forrest, and Kayla Jett.
The musical was under the direction of Eva Eikel. Popcorn and lemonade were also provided for free at the event.
