Each month, at Community R-VI High School, STRIVE sponsors a boy and girl high school student as Students of the Month. When choosing this honor, teachers and staff members consider effort in academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, adherence to school rules, and demonstration of school spirit and pride. The November Students of the Month are Travis Swaim and Katie Bertels, and the December Students of the Month are Zane Hoffmann and Morgan Lincoln.
Junior Travis Swaim is the son of Jamie and Brenda Swaim, of Martinsburg. He is active in FFA, FBLA, Student Council, STRIVE, and Envirothon. Travis enjoys hunting and fishing, trap shooting, and hanging with friends.
Freshman Katie Bertels is the daughter of David and Paula Bertels, of Martinsburg. She is active in softball, FFA, FBLA, FCA, FTA, and Art Club. Katie enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and being the best TROJAN fan that she can be. Senior Zane Hoffmann is the son of Meredith Thomas and Shane Hoffmann, and grandson of Larry and Mary Thomas, of Middletown.  He is active in Quiz Bowl and NHS. Zane enjoys reading and enjoying the magic of cinema.
Senior Morgan Lincoln is the granddaughter of Chuck and Joyce Lincoln, of Martinsburg.  She is active in FBLA, TREND, NHS, and Envirothon. Morgan enjoys baking, reading, online shopping, and playing with her cousins.
