Community R-VI School Board meets

R-VIAndrew Fairchild, board president, called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. in the district library. A quorum was declared present.
The board voted to accept the modified agenda. The board voted to approve the October 16 Regular Session meeting minutes.
The board approved the transfer from the general fund to the teacher’s fund to cover monthly expenditures.
The board reviewed the October nurse’s report. The board reviewed and approved the dates and times that candidates can file to have their name placed on the April 2014 ballot.
The board approved to pay the November 2013 bills.
The board voted to extend the partnership with Head Start for one year. The board also voted to extend the lease on the house for one year.
Nicki Poindexter presented an update on elementary PBS data. Nicki also shared that she, Patti Pazdera and Natalie Gibson attended a PBS leadership conference in Chicago, Ill.
Brandon Westlake presented an update on PBS data for the secondary side of the building.
Becky Schafer commended the Elementary PBS team for being invited to speak along with Dr. Tim Lewis at the conference in Chicago, Ill.
Brad Wegman and Kelly Lierman from L.J. Hart, LLC presented information on the bond issue.
Cheryl Mack presented transportation and OPAA! Food Service Management, Inc. reports.
Mrs. Mack asked board members to consider attending the 2014 Missouri Association of Rural Education (MARE) Conference. The conference will be held February 20-22, 2014 at The Resort at Port Arrowhead, Lake Ozark, Mo.
Natalie Gibson, elementary principal, presented the attendance report. Mrs. Gibson also gave updates on PBS, PLC and federal programs.
Mrs. Gibson also asked for permission from the board pursue the Missouri Afterschool Retreat Reading and Assessment Grant.
Dale Marshall, secondary principal, presented the attendance report. He also presented data from middle school social studies, middle school math, middle school reading and middle school science.
At 9:44 p.m., the board voted to adjourn the meeting.
