Community R-VI High School has named the Strive Students of the Month for November and December.
When choosing the students to receive this honor, teachers and staff members consider effort in academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, adherence to school rules, and demonstration of school spirit and pride.
The November Students of the Month are Adam Hombs and Danielle Brooks. The December Students of the Month are Brandon Arens and Erika Byrd.
Adam Hombs, sophomore, is the son of Darren and Michelle Hombs, of Martinsburg. He is active in FCA, FFA, varsity football, basketball, and FBLA. Hombs’ hobbies include sports, hanging with friends, scuba diving, riding dirt bikes, hunting, and fishing.
Danielle Brooks, junior, is the daughter of Daniel and Amy Brooks, of Martinsburg. She is active in FCA, FFA, FBLA, TREND, Stu-Co, basketball, softball, and FTA. Brooks’ hobbies include hanging out with friends, playing basketball, eating, fishing, and hunting.
Brandon Arens, senior, is the son of Steve Arens and Rhonda Arens, of Martinsburg. He is active in FBLA, Art Club, NHS, and varsity basketball. Arens’ hobbies include hunting, fishing, PlayStation, reading, going to the Y, and playing with Riley.
Erika Byrd, freshman, is the daughter of Michael and Amy Byrd, of Martinsburg. She is active in Art Club, Choir, Student Council, TREND, and Quiz Bowl. Byrd’s hobbies include reading, going to the movies, hanging out with friends, and watching Netflix.
