Community R-VI holds Christmas Concert

The Community R-VI School District celebrated students and their musical talents during their recent K-12 Christmas Concert held on Thursday, December 8.
The event began with the Preschool kids singing “Five Little Elves Sitting on the Gate” and “The Light on the Tree.”
Community R-VI’s grade 6-12 band followed with “Sleigh Ride,” “Ukranian Bell Carol,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Deck the Halls with Chips and Salsa,” and “Santa and the Blizzard.”
Grades K-1 performed “Hawaiian Christmas” and “Mittens and Gloves.”
They were followed by the 4th grade performing “Fantasy on an Old French Carol” and “O Christmas Tree.”
Grades 4-5 performed “Will You Be Here This December” before Grades 2-5 did “Under the Tree.”
“Santa’s Getting Fit For Christmas” was performed by 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades while grades 2-3 sang “We Will Jingle.”
The district’s high school guitar class played a selection of songs that included “Minuet in G,” “Yesterday,” “Mad World,” “Silent Night,” and “Rock Around the Christmas Tree.”
The Middle School Honor Choir sang “When Christmas Comes to Town” and “Sing We All Noel.”
The High School Choir performed “Christmas Wish,” “It’s A Holiday Season,” and “Things That Never Die” before the evening concluded with the K-12 Choir singing “We Believe in Music.”
