MMA cadets walk by several veterans who give a salute at the end of a flag folding ceremony. Every fold of the American Flag represents a focal point of the military.

The Community R-VI School District, with the help of cadets from Missouri Military Academy, paid tribute to local veterans with a Veterans Day breakfast and ceremony held Friday, November 9.
The district had each veteran in attendance stand to be recognized and the entire group was given a standing ovation. Reading off the list of names were Leah Mays and Shane Myers.
Colors were presented by MMA’s cadets. The Middle School and High School Choirs performed the “National Anthem” while the 1st Hour ITV students led the “Pledge of Allegiance.”
After Paige Harris gave the official welcome, the crowd was treated to the High School Band performing both the “Washington Post March” and “America the Beautiful.”
A special tribute came from student Russell Lovelace who sang a solo with “Letters from Home” while playing his guitar.
“American Anthem” was performed by the Middle School Choir.
The 8th grade band performed the “National Emblem Band” and “Screaming Eagles March.” Community R-VI’s High School Choir followed with “All That They Had They Gave.”
MMA’s cadets then performed a “Flag Folding Ceremony.”
The event concluded with elementary students holding up American Flags they had created while performing the final number.
