The Farber Community Betterment made 2016 Spring plans at their meeting on Tuesday, February 2 at the Farber Library with Marilynn Flowers presiding.
Vernelle Hull gave the treasurer’s report. Lynn Flowers and Brandie Gay discussed the progress on the Community Building improvements project and invited everyone to the Valentine Soup Lunch, serving 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on February 14.
It was reported that the next planning meeting will be Tuesday, February 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Building and everyone is welcome.
A Poker Night is being planned for Saturday, March 12 to help raise funds to continue the work. Amy and Derek Kuda will be in charge.
Other events added to the calendar were the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Sportsmans Park (ball field) on Saturday morning, March 19. And in preparation for the ball season, Spring Cleaning at the ball park will be Saturday afternoon, March 19. Brandie Gay will coordinate these events. The All-Town Yard Sale was scheduled for Saturday, June 4. Lynn Flowers will be organizing the yard sales and Anna Flowers will assist.
Vernelle Hull reported a magician will be performing at the library on July 27.
Ruth Williams reported that the circus is tentatively scheduled to visit Farber in September.
Other business included discussion of the Library building maintenance. It was also noted that the Farber Library and Librarian Vernelle Hull will both celebrate a 50th anniversary this year to be celebrated during the Farber Summer Fun Fest on August 5-6.
