The Van-Far Teachers Association (VFTA) held a Retirement Tea honoring Brenda Colbert last week at Van-Far Elementary School.
VFTA President Kay Bunge presented the “Golden Apple” and Van-Far School Board President Dana Keller presented Colbert with the “Golden Bell.”
“Brenda’s well known for her positivity, her compassion, her willingness to help kids to get them whatever they need as they work towards their full potential…,” said Van-Far Superintendent Dr. Stephen Hunter.
Kelly Hopke was the speaker. Hopke introduced Colbert’s family who attended the event.
Hopke shared information regarding Colbert’s career while passionately sharing other insights on what Colbert meant to the district with those in attendance.
Colbert’s husband also addressed those in attendance.
