Cindy (Spencer) Dooley, 51, of Odessa, Mo., formerly of Mexico, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo.
Family services were held on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at New Harmony Christian Church near Curryville.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation was Saturday from 1-2 at the church.
Cynthia Diane Spencer Dooley was born in Hannibal, Mo., on Jan. 15, 1961.
She is the daughter of Kay (Moore) Willis of Mexico, the late Orville Willis, and Floyd Alvin Spencer of Mexico.
She was united with Union Baptist Church in Mexico and later with First Baptist Church in Odessa.
She was a 1979 graduate of Mexico High School, a 1983 graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a B.S. in Nursing, and received a master’s in public administration with an emphasis in health services administration from UMKC in 1995.
Cindy worked over 20 years at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
She married Keith Alan Dooley on May 21, 1983 and they have two daughters, Kaylea Nicole Dooley of Blue Springs and Allison Diane Dooley, a student at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In addition to her husband, daughters and parents, she is survived by a sister Janet Smith of Schylkill Haven, Pa.; half-brother Jay Spencer of Mexico; half-sister Brandi Spencer of Indiana; nephew Ryan; nieces Whitney and Morgan, five great- nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was active in her church, where she made many prayer shawls. She also enjoyed her horses, dogs, and cats.
Cindy was preceded in death by Orville Willis and her grandparents Calvin and Alma Lea Moore.
Memorials may be made to the New Harmony Christian Church Cemetery Fund or put towards her daughter Allison’s college fund
