The following churches sent updates to their weekly schedule:
• At the Vandalia United Methodist Church, the Sewing Group will gather on Thursday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, April 29, Sunday School will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the Worship Service will follow at 10 a.m.
The Boy Scout Meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 30.
On Tuesday, May 1, the TOPS meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and the Cub Scout meeting will start at 6:45 p.m.
• Faith Tabernacle COGIC, 907 W. Home Street, will observe Missionary Day on Sunday, April 29. Dinner will be served following morning service around 1 p.m. An afternoon service will begin at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Minister Cathy Willis, of Second Missionary Baptist Church, of Vandalia. The theme will be, “It’s Spring, Time to Plant God’s Garden.” The public is welcome to attend.
• A music celebration, “Sing for Joy,” will be held at the New Harmony Christian Church on Saturday, April 28 beginning at 6 p.m. This is a part of the year-long celebration for the 175th anniversary of the church.
Performers for the evening include “The Inspirations,” JoAnn Raney, Wayne Lynn, Mike and Jeannie Gratton, Dennis Ebers, Emily Lain, and Roger and Cheryl Poindexter. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the evening of music with refreshments to follow.
Plans are also underway for a celebration on the actual anniversary date of June 15 and a revival to be held August 3-5. More information will be forthcoming on these events.
This “Small Church With a Big Heart” welcomes all to join them for worship services on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. Sunday School classes for all ages commence following the worship service. Anyone with questions may contact Pastor Laura Beth Zeh at 573-822-4673.
• First Presbyterian Church will host KidZConnect on Wednesday, April 25 from 2-4 p.m.
On Sunday, April 29, Sunday School will begin at 9 a.m. The Worship Service, with the Rev. Joel Montgomery, will begin at 10 a.m.
The ushers for the day will be Terri Jungers and Betsy Finley.
The greeters will be Jean Trower and Rennie Davis.
