Church Updates

The following churches sent updates to their weekly schedules:
• The Vandalia Presbyterian will join in the Lenton Luncheon at First Christian Church on Wednesday, February 14 at noon. The Bell Choir will meet at 4:30 p.m. and the Chancel Choir will meet at 5:15 p.m.
On Sunday, February 18, Sunday School will begin at 9 a.m. The Worship Service, with guest minister the Rev. Phil Olsen, will begin at 10 a.m. The ushers for the day will be Treyson Culwell and Betsy Finley and the greeters will be Rick and Shelly McAfee.
• On Wednesday, February 14, the Vandalia United Methodist Church will also join in the Lenten Luncheon at the First Christian Church.
On Sunday, February 18, Sunday School will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the Worhsip Service will begin at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, February 20, the TOPS Meeting will begin at 5 p.m. The Cub Scouts will begin at 6:45 p.m.
Next Wednesday, February 21, the Lenten Lunch will again take place at the First Christian Church at noon. The Ministry Team Meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
• The New Harmony Christian Church will be celebrating their 175th Anniversary throughout the year and have a special event planned for Sunday, February 25. There will be a carry-in lunch (meat and drink provided) at noon and a program on the “History of the Town of New Harmony” will be presented at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited the attend. A presentation on the history of the church will take place at a later date.
A Lenten Bible Study will begin on Tuesday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m. with a soup supper. The study will begin at 6:15 p.m. This will continue on Wednesday, February 21 and Tuesday, February 27. Dates for March will be announced later.
Ash Wednesday services will be on Wednesday, February 14, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Rev. Laura Beth Zeh serves as pastor of New Harmony Christian Church. Sunday morning services begin at 9 a.m. with Sunday School classes following. Everyone is invited to attend any and all services at the church.
