• At Vandalia First Presbyterian, on Wednesday, January 11, the Bell Choir will practice at 4:30 p.m. followed by the Chancel Choir at 5:15 p.m.
On Sunday, January 15, Sunday School will take place at 9 a.m. and the Holy Communion Worship Service with the Reverend Joel Montgomery will follow at 10 a.m.
Ushers for Sunday will be Shelly McAfee and Betsy Finley. The greeters will be Monte and Marilyn Basinger.
• The Unity Outreach Incorporated at 210 S. Main in Vandalia, will meet on Sunday, January 15 for Praise and Worship from 10-11 a.m. The Church Service will follow at 11 a.m.-12 noon. At 6 p.m., a Bible Study will take place.
On Monday, January 16 at 6:30-7:30 p.m.,  the Support Group will meet. This is a Biblically-based “Addiction Free in Christ (AFIC) group.
The Reverend Lionel Shaw is the minister. Call 594-2152 for further information.
• The Farber Christian Church will meet for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 15.
The Show-Me Christian Youth Home, of LaMonte, Mo., will be in charge of the Worship Service beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Everyone is welcome.
• At Friendship Baptist Church on Sunday, January 8, 39 were in attendance at Sunday School and the attendance at the Morning Worship Service was 66.
Pastor Glen Forman delivered a message entitled “Remembering and Reminding,” with a text of 2 Peter 1:11-21. Mrs. Sheri Beasley presented a solo prior to the morning message.
On Sunday evening, there were 25 in attendance (including four children and two leaders in RAs and GAS.
The Forman family presented an accapella trio before the evening message.
Sunday, this week is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. Morning Worship begins at 10:45 a.m.
During the morning service, a “Noisy Offering” will be collected from the crowd by our young children.
The noisy offering will be designated for support of KJAB 88.3 radio.
Brother Forman will continue a verse by verse study of 2 Peter. The congregation will be led in singing hymns by Mrs. Kristy Schott. The Sunday morning special music will be presented by Mrs. Virginia Rivers.
On Sunday evening, January 15, at 6 p.m., Kristy will lead the congregation in the singing of hymns. The Special Music will be provided by Isaiah Schott.
The RAs and GAs will meet at  6 p.m. The children’s mission education will be led by Mrs. Valory Wright.
