Twenty-one sisters of Chapter CE  P. E. O. met Saturday, January 19 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church for Chapter CE’s annual Founders’ Day observance.

Continuing the chapter year’s theme, The King and I, Ann Foreman introduced the program “When I am with you, Getting to know what to say” on the seven sisters who founded the international P.E.O. organization on January 21, 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Ann displayed photographs of the seven founders and related the goals of the Chapter CE P.E.O. as being friendship and the education of women.

Preceding a delicious brunch served by hostesses Jean Barnes, Janie Zimmer, and Linda Witte, chapter members were photographed in the marguerite aprons made by the chapter to commemorate its founding in 1915.

Sharon Lewton, President, conducted the business meeting with sisters answering roll call with their favorite restaurant.

Dues were collected by the treasurer, Teresa Wenzel.

Twelve members of Chapter CE P.E.O. were present for the funeral of Frances Ann Parrish on Tuesday, January 22.

Ann Foreman and Loralee Adam related Frances’ almost 68-year participation in P.E.O.

Officers Ann Foreman, Cindy Pirch, Muriel Beshears, and Teresa Wenzel conducted the P.E.O. ceremony in remembrance of Frances Ann Parrish.

The next meeting of Chapter CE P.E.O will be Tuesday, February 5 at 7 p.m. at the Vandalia First Presbyterian Church.
