Van-Far Lady Indians secure first Moberly Shootout victory with strong fourth quarter comeback

The Van-Far Lady Indians have already matched their win total from last season, securing their fourth victory before the end of the calendar year. In a thrilling game at the Moberly Holiday Shootout, held at Moberly Area Community College, Van-Far triumphed over Moberly with a score of 44-37 on Friday. This win marks their first victory at the Moberly shootout after three years of going winless. The Van-Far Ladies Indians showcased a strong performance in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lady Spartans 14-4 af- ter trailing 33-30 at the end of the third quarter. Elliott Utterback was instrumental in the comeback, hitting two crucial 3-pointers to put Van-Far ahead. Her free throws, along with those from Carly Hunn and Mylee Keller, ensured the Lady Indians maintained their lead. Utterback led the team with 21 points and six rebounds, while Chloe Zumwalt contributed 11 points and eight rebounds. Hunn and Keller each added five points to the tally.
