Car Seat Program July 31

Posted on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 12:25 pm

Are you not sure if your car seat is installed correctly or do you need help with installing it? Whether you’re buying your child’s first car seat or deciding to let your kids ride with or without a booster seat, the Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) staff can help you. Staff members have been trained in the proper selection and correct use of car seats. The staff will look at your car seat and see how it is installed, make any changes that are necessary, and teach the parent or caregiver how to properly install the seat. When you leave, you should feel confident about the seat’s installation and reinstalling it on your own. If you car seat isn’t in proper working condition, you may be eligible to receive a free car seat, though certain guidelines must be met.
Each car seat check takes about 45 minutes and multiple seats require additional time. Please call to schedule your appointment. Appointments do fill up quickly. This Buckle-up Event will be 9-11 a.m. on July 30 at the ACHD, 1130 South Elmwood in Mexico. Call 573-581-1332 for an appointment or with questions.
