C.A.R. met Sunday

The Grand Prairie Society, Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) met on Sunday afternoon at the Brinkman Hall of the Vandalia First Presbyterian Church. Twenty-two members, senior leaders, and others were in attendance.
The meeting was called to order by President Alec Adam at 2 p.m., with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the U.S.A. and the C.A.R. Pledge.
The minutes of the last meeting were read by Senior Recording Secretary Beth Motley for Society Recording Secretary Claire Motley and approved as read.
Society Treasurer Paige Dameron read the treasurer’s report prepared by Senior Treasurer Teresa Wenzel.
Several events were discussed including the MSSCAR State Conference in Columbia on March 25-26 and the Great Plains Regional Meeting in St. Louis on June 15-17.
The National Contest Entry Deadline is March 1 and members reviewed the contests listed in the National Packet.
A Skittles Demonstration was presented by Kailey and Krista Luebrecht. Refreshments were provided by Debbie Barnes.
Members attending the meeting were Alec Adam, Emma Barnes, Gabriel Bryant, Elijah Bryant, Annalynn Culwell, Kylie Dameron, Paige Dameron, Kailey Luebrecht, Trent Maiden, and Trevor Miller.  Senior Leaders attending were Ken Hofer, Jen Adam, Beth Motley, Ruth Miller, Judy Flowers, Krista Luebrecht, and Mandi Bryant.
Others attending were Debbie Barnes, Isaac Bryant, Michael Bryant, Shera Dameron, and Joy Davis.
