Buron Lovee Parker

Buron Lovee Parker, 86, of Foley, Ala., went home to be with the Lord at 10 p.m. Aug. 19, 2014. He passed away under the tender care of Hospice after a 10-day battle with pneumonia.
Mr. Parker was born in Laurel, Miss., May 21, 1928 to Avis B. and Ruby Mae Parker, both of whom have preceded him in death, as did his only sibling, Pansy L. Parker Turpin.
Mr. Parker was a veteran who met and married his wife while stationed near St. Louis. He was a carpenter, painter, and cabinet maker prior to his retirement. He was an active member of Swift Presbyterian Church and was an ordained elder.
Mr. Parker leaves his much beloved wife of 66 years, Genevieve Turpin Parker; two daughters, Jeanette Parker Gartner (Don) and Linda Parker Smith (Doug); grandchildren: David W. Gartner (Tracy), Rachel Gartner, Crystal Cook (Jon), Amy Wehlitz (Dennis); great grandchildren: Cheyenne Green, Austin Green, Simon Gartner, Chris, Drew, Brad, Nathan Wehlitz.
Mr. Parker was dearly loved by his family, extended family, friends, church, and neighbors.
Following a visitation at Swift Presbyterian Church in Foley, Ala., his ashes will be taken to Bowling Green, where a memorial service was held  at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, with Greg Wyble officiating.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial of cremains will be at a later date in the Antioch Cemetery in Cyrene.
