Vandalia area residents can donate blood locally to the American Red Cross on Tuesday, February 12, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. at the V.F.W. Hall in Vandalia.
The American Red Cross says having enough blood to meet patient need is a delicate balance between supply and demand. Unfortunately, winter weather often disrupts this balance.
When the winter weather hits, it forces the cancellation of numerous American Red Cross blood drives locally and across the country.
Area residents can help meet the needs of local hospital patients by giving blood before winter weather strikes and as soon as safely possible after the storm.
Area residents can also text givelife to 90999 to join the Red Cross Blood texting program.
