Students attending Community R-VI Summer School presented “The Big Bad Musical: A Howling Courtroom Comedy” on Thursday, June 28.
The musical involved the Big Bad Wolf being sued by a storybook of characters who want to get even in a courtroom setting. Those include Little Red Riding Hood, her grandmother, the The Three Little Pigs, and the shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.
Even though the Prosecuting Attorney, the Fairy Godmother, makes a good case against him, the Big Bad Wolf makes a good case for himself.
The audience at Community R-VI became the jury and decided the Big Bad Wolf was not guilty.
The musical was directed by Rose Wilburn and Eva Eikel.
The comedy is based on a book by Alec Strum with music and lyrics from Bill Francouer. It was produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc. in Englewood, Colo.
Local directors thank Connie Brown for help with costumes; Sound Solutions, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and First Baptist Church of Laddonia for loaning sound equipment; and lighting by Sturgeon High School and Kimberly Guilford.
