Beryl Genevieve Brock

Beryl Genevieve Brock, age 94, of Vandalia, passed away Dec. 14, 2014 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the First Baptist Church Worship Center of Vandalia.  Visitation will be held 9:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the First Baptist Church Worship Center of Vandalia.  Burial will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 18 in the National Cemetery in Springfield.
Mrs. Brock was born Feb. 19, 1920 in Seymour, the daughter of Robert Lee and Lola Lou Tressie Wolfenbarger Miller.  On July 5, 1941 she married Carroll Charles Brock.  He preceded her in death in 1981.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Shumate and husband John of Palm Beach Garden, Fla., Judy Seeser and husband Jim of St. Louis, Carolyn Bailey and husband Glen of Curryville; six grandchildren, Kelly Shumate of Akron, Ohio, Lisa Shumate of Georgetown, Texas, Steven Shumate of Fayetteville, Ark., Adrian Seeser and wife Jennifer of St. Louis, Brock Bailey and wife Stephanie of Curryville, and Ryan Bailey and wife Melissa of Curryville; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Robert Lee Junior.Beryl was formerly of Springfield and recently lived in Vandalia.
She was a member of Vandalia First Baptist Church and enjoyed being a choir member.  Beryl loved gardening, quilting, reading, and sewing.
Serving as pallbearers will be Adrian Seeser, Brock Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Austin Bailey, Micah Bailey, Clint Bailey, and Steve Shumate.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Bland, Dick Hammett, and Bob Giltner.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Vandalia or Pike County Home Health and Hospice.
