Awards given out during farewell concert for Cucciarre

Anthony Cole received both the Bertram Cowley Memorial Scholarship and the J.P. Sousa Award.

Van-Far hosted an emotional End-of-the-Year Concert/High School Musical Program on Thursday, May 11.
Director Alex Cucciarre informed the audience that he is leaving the district and shared many emotions regarding his students and his experience during his time at Van-Far.
Choir students surprised him at the end of the event by singing “The Sound of Silence.”
During the concert, the Mixed Choir performed “She Sings,” “Poor, Wayfaring Stranger,” “One (from a ‘Chorus Line’);” “O Vos Omnes,” and “Praise His Holy Name.”
Soloists Jayson Orr, Cameron Barsé, Makayla Vigil, and Ashley Stanich performed during “Some Nights.”
The Junior High Band followed with “Autumn Fanfare,” “Faith of our Fathers,” “Down to the River to Pray,” and “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky.”
A clarinet feature with Rebecca Calvin and Lily Boushard took place during “Ocala March.”
The High School Band performed “Sabre Dance,” “At Sunrise,” and “Crush.”
The Combined Band performed “Crown With Many Crowns.”
