Audrain County R-VI FFA members hosted their Annual Farm Safety Day recently at Community R-VI School in Laddonia.
Forty FFA members presented on the following safety topics: Tractor, Fire, Grain Bin, ATV, Fire Arms, Electrical, Animal, and Lawn Mower. The lessons were presented to the K-5th grade classes at Community R-VI Elementary School.
FFA members worked to research and create presentations to teach safety concepts about common farm and home activities.
Elementary students got to participate in activities learning how to prevent fires, ride ATVs, handle firearms, and work around animals.
Presenters assisting FFA members included Norman Steelman (Audrain Co. Conservation Agent), and Brad Hagan, with Consolidated Electric Cooperative.
Thank you to Ennis Implement Company for the use of a Case IH Steiger and Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Department for the use of the fire truck.
