The Audrain County Commission has announced the hiring of Nicholas Tietsort as Emergency Management Director (EMD) for Audrain County. Tietsort replaces former EMD Steve Shaw, who is no longer in the position.
“The EMD position is very important for Audrain County. Tietsort will work to make sure that we, as a county and residents of Audrain County, are prepared in the event of an emergency or natural disaster,” said Audrain County Presiding Commissioner Steve Hobbs.
“We are excited that Nicholas will be our new EMD. The skills and abilities that he brings to table will serve our residents and emergency service providers well.”
Tietsort will begin his duties on July 16. He has been employed in law enforcement for 12 years and most recently with the Audrain County Sheriff Department for seven years.
“We had some really great applicants for the position and Nicholas seemed the best fit for Audrain County,” said Associate Commissioner Tracy Graham. “I am looking forward to him getting started.”
Nicholas is a resident of Audrain County. He and his family reside in Mexico.
“Coming from the Sheriff’s Department, Nicholas already has a relationship with many emergency service providers and people in the county. A priority will be continuing to build and strengthen those relationships so that the people of our county can be best served in emergency preparedness. Nicholas is ready to take this on.” Associate Commissioner Alan Winders said.
“I am excited to get started and to continue to serve the county in the capacity of Audrain County EMD,” Tietsort said.
