Audrain Co R-VI FFA Chapter and Greenhand Officers planned Food for America programs for Kindergarten through 5th grade classes at Community R-VI Elementary School. FFA members taught each elementary class about a different agricultural commodity with hands on learning lessons.
Elementary students learned a variety of different things about agricultural production including; where our beef and milk come from, how we get our dairy products, what soybeans are used for, how to take cuttings from plants/how light effects plants, and how to milk a cow. Officers plan a monthly program for the elementary students to educate them about different areas of agriculture, ranging from food production, commodities, plant science, and animal science.
