Current Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, who is also one of 11 Republican candidates in the U.S. Senate election on August 7, visited Mexico last Tuesday as part of his 100-stop Working Tour.
Hawley’s stop was at Mid-America Biofuels LLC, giving him an opportunity to visit with some of the factory’s employees.
It was noted that the local biodisesel plant opened at 15 million bushels a year for usage (2006) and it is now at 22 million. Hawley was informed the local plant is just above 8% for total Missouri production. It is producing 50 million gallon of biodiesel per year.
Biodiesel is being shipped from Mexico to large truck stops and a lot of the product stays in Missouri.
During the event, Hawley said it was great to be at the location to learn about the Mid-America Biofuels operation.
He also took a moment to note that U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill should publicly show her support to Supreme Court nominee Cavanaugh.
Hawley also said he has challenged the incumbent to up to five debates.
Hawley also fielded questions on Russia and possible election influence.
He also noted the need for a better deal for farmers and later noted a need for Sen. McCaskill to be held accountable on a number of issues.
