Each year the ANH Foundation intends to canvas all ANH employees for donation suggestions. The intent is to provide a positive impact to the communities where ANH is involved and also to recognize our employees’ own donations of time, talent, and money to the charities of their choice. The ANH foundation was established in the 1990s and donates between $50,000 and $60,000 annually, is independent and separate from the company, and is made up of a team of employees who serve as the Board of Directors and selection committee, for which organizations will receive donations. ANH employees were encouraged to submit requests for their favorite charitable organization, along with a show of need, employees involvement within the charity and were required to submit an IRS tax exempt form 501c3.
Farber Community Betterment, Inc. was selected to receive the $12,000 request that was submitted by Ruth Williams, First Responder/Community Betterment Secretary; Gary Stubblefield, Farber Fire Chief; and John Hodde, Farber Assistant Fire Chief to purchase basic firefighter supplies to ensure firefighter safety.
Vandalia Recreation Corporation was selected to receive the $3,000 request that was submitted by Toni Trower, part of the fundraising task force, to raise funds to build a YMCA in Vandalia, which will also house the community library currently located in a structurally unsound facility. Presenting checks to both parities was Cathy Schutte, a member of the ANH Foundaiton board of directors.
