The Angela’s Dance Company Chic Division softball team finished their season with a 12-2 record after falling in the championship game 11-9 to Bowling Green (Grote).
ADC led 5-4 through three innings before being outscored 7-4 in their final three at bats.
The game ended on a time limit with the tying run at the plate for ADC.
“These girls have put together four great years in a row,” said head coach Pat Connaway. “They have played for the championship each of the past four years, winning two titles and their record over this time period is 50-6. They are a great group of girls with a great future ahead of them. We are very proud of them and their effort.”
Reaghan Case led the way with three hits and she scored three runs while both Gina Clausen and Liz Hodde added two hits and two runs scored.
Katy Horner had one hit and scored one run. Morgan McDowell and Erica Felmlee each scored one run.
Carleigh Phillips tossed two innings and allowed three runs on four hits while striking out one. Horner took the loss after tossing four innings and allowing eight runs on no hits while striking out 10. She did walk nine and hit four batters.
Before the title game, ADC crushed Louisiana (Green) in the playoffs 19-8.
Horner had three hits with a home run and scored two runs. Alex Connaway had two hits and scored twice while Allie Schambach had three hits and scored three times.
Phillips had one hit and scored two runs, Case had one hit, and Clausen added one hit and scored two runs. McDowell had one hit and scored three runs.
Phillips earned the victory on the mound after tossing four innings and allowing one run on four hits.
She also struck out four and walked six.
