AMC trustees met January 23

The Audrain Medical Center board of trustees met Thursday, January 23 with Sterling Oliver, chairman; Bill Dubbert, vice chairman; Gene Thomas, D.O., treasurer; Jo Ellen Craghead, secretary; and Peter Perll, M.D., member in attendance. Staff attending were David Neuendorf, president/CEO; and Ranae Rowe, executive assistant.
Dr. Gene Thomas reported that he, Neuendorf, and David Schulte viewed the north entrance where the hospital enclosed the mezzanine area. The area looks very nice and the new flooring blended in well with the rest of the unit.
According to meeting minutes, the inspection included a visit to the energy center to view the cause of a water heating problem. A new coil was ordered that the corrected the problem. AMC will engage an engineer to help us identify a better long term solution.
President’s report
Neuendorf provided the hospital update. A county tax check was received today. In February, the Board of Trustees will receive a request from the Board of Directors to transfer $650,000 in funds for maintenance of the hospital.
Bill Dubbert was the only candidate who filed for the trustee vacancy.
AMC has a new clinic in Auxvasse. Dr. Rebecca Kelley is the physician. AMC now has 10 primary care clinics in seven different communities.
On February 3, Dr. John Lucio, interventional pain management physician, is going to start his practice at AMC. Dr. Jonathon Morris, hospitalist, will also join us on February 3. The recruitment of other specialists continues.
Old Business
Neuendorf reported the Audrain County Historical Society will display the old chapel painting that was in the A.P. Green Chapel.
New Business
The revised Audrain County Hospital budget for 2014 was reviewed. The revised budget reflects the final year-end cash balance from 2013 and will be sent to the State Auditor. Oliver asked the Board for approval of the revised budget.
Discussion Items
Oliver reported it was time for the biennial review of the Board of Trustees bylaws. He asked if there were any suggested changes or additions. There were not any recommended changes.
Neuendorf reviewed the December Audrain County Hospital financials with the trustees.
